Johnson County Listen Local
Role: Website design and developmentAs part of an intiative at the Johnson County Library to connect with community resources and help promote the local arts, the Listen Local program was established to help feature and connect local musicians from all backgrounds and genres. Working with other staff members, I helped create the digital section on the Johnson County Library website to help staff members post regular updates, embed and share music from performers, and provide genre-based tagging and categories for easy browsing.
A 'Listen Local Live!' feature was also incorporated, where artists would regularly perform in the local Makerspace, and then have their videos shared online. These posts were identified with special video icons along with their own category. Over a hundred artists were featured in the first year and a half alone, and even more continue to be added monthly.
